I'm brand new to crypto and Polymarket. How do I start? +
Three steps, ~10 minutes total:

1. Install MetaMask — a browser wallet. Free, takes 2 min. Download here. Write your seed phrase on paper, store it somewhere safe. (MIMIC never sees this.)

2. Create a Polymarket account using MetaMask. Sign up here. Fund it with USDC on Polygon. (Affiliate link — supports MIMIC at no cost to you.)

3. Download MIMIC, paste your Polymarket proxy address, pick a trader to copy, hit BEGIN.
Is MIMIC custodial? +
No. MIMIC is desktop software that runs on your machine. Your wallet keys never leave your device. There's no MIMIC server holding your funds. We can't freeze you, rug you, or get hacked on your behalf.
How fast does it copy a trade? +
Sub-second on the happy path. MIMIC subscribes to Polygon WebSocket fills and Polymarket's REST activity feed simultaneously. Median detect-to-submit time is ~1.2 seconds. On heavily-traded markets you'll often land in the same block as your target.
What happens when my target takes both sides of a market? +
You decide. With ARB MODE off, MIMIC stays single-direction — when target reveals an arb intent, the bot cancels leg 1 and skips leg 2. With ARB MODE on, MIMIC mimics both legs only when the math is actually profitable (price sum ≤ $1.00 + safety). Guaranteed-loss trades are refused.
How much capital do I need? +
MIMIC works with any balance. Polymarket's CLOB has a $1 minimum per fill. We recommend at least $100 to absorb normal variance, but there's no hard floor. The slider lets you cap per-trade exposure to whatever you're comfortable with.
Can my target see that I'm copying them? +
On-chain trades are public, but MIMIC uses your own Polymarket proxy wallet. There's no visible link between your wallet and the target's. You show up as just another trader on the order book — anonymous by default.
What platforms? +
Windows now. macOS and Linux on the roadmap. The HUD is built on Qt6 so the cross-platform work is mostly ported assets + installer signing.
